A Regular maintenance will keep your pump station operating efficiently. The 10 year guarantee your basement contractor gave you when the work was completed depends on regular maintenance. In case of a claim, your insurers will want to proof of maintenance. Both the British Standards for pump stations and waterproofing recommend regular servicing.
Q What is the easiest way to have total peace of mind for my basement pumps?
A Add your property to one of our direct debit plans. We will contact you when you pumps are due for service and we are available 24/7 in case of an emergency.
Q Will I have to contact you when my pumps are due for service?
A If you are a service customer we will contact you by your preferred method. We will schedule the service at a time that is convenient for you.
Q Can I take out insurance to cover breakdowns and replacement equipment?
A The standard plan covers servicing and replacement parts including labour both during and outside normal working hours. We don’t call it insurance, we label it ‘total peace of mind’.
Q What hours do you operate at customer’s properties?
A Our first visit is at 7.30AM and the last is 4.00PM Monday to Friday. We continue to work around the clock if an emergency needs our attendance.
Q Do you offer flexible appointment times?
A We make appointments to suit our clients needs and will arrive within an hour of the scheduled time for example for a 10.00AM appointment will aim to arrive on time but it could be up to 11AM.

Q If remedial work is recommended during the service visit, can I have it carried out at the same time as the service?
A Some work can be carried out during the service, but often more involved tasks need additional time and labour, therefore a new appointment date will need to be made. If you are on our standard plan we will not charge for parts or labour for most of the work we might need to carry out.

A This pump station collects water that ingresses through the walls of the basement structure and is directed to the pump station via a cavity membrane system www.deltamembranes.com.
Q What is a foul pump station?
A It collects foul water from your basement facilities, i.e. toilets, showers, washing machines and pumps them to the sewer, normally located in the street. This is often necessary as there is not a gravity connection form your basement to the sewer.
Q Are pumps noisy?
A Generally pumps are very quiet in operation. During the build phase, pump stations are backfilled with concrete and sealed with a man hole cover, therefore they are virtually inaudible. In fact we have many clients with pump stations under their beds.
Q If I have a foul pump installed in my basement, will I suffer from odours in my property?
A A pump station is a sealed unit, if it is installed correctly no odours will escape.
Q Can the service be done at the weekend?
A We do not carry out regular maintenance over the weekends, although we are able to attend 24/7 for unplanned or emergency work.
Q Why is the service due when I only moved into the property recently?
A When the pumps were installed by the contractor, the pumps would have started operating immediately, requiring a regular service, regardless of when the property is inhabited or moved into.
Q Can I have the same engineer each time?
A It is possible to have the same engineer each time, but it may limit our ability to book an appointment that is most convenient to you.
Q Do I have to get PPS to service my pumps? Are there other companies?
A We are the only service recommended by all the basement construction companies.
Q Can my plumber/electrician service/install my pumps?
A Plumbers and electricians have specialist skills. Our engineers have a variety of skills, covering plumbing, electrical and mechanical trades. We will arrive at your property in a van stocked with all the spares enabling us to complete 95% of unplanned work in one visit.
